They can get even bigger too. Some models of blades are actually made and hauled in 2 pieces and connected at site. Average size of a blade right now is 49 meters. Every couple years this number will grow by a couple meters as larger turbines become more economically feasible. Higher energy return ratio and lower operation cost (including production, hauling them and installing)
