An elevated metro track tube between two sub-surface stations on the B-line in Prague, Czech Republic

It’s enclosed at the roof as well. The primary reason is usually to reduce noise pollution and occasionally weather interference. The Prague metro uses a Siemens M1 (in this case siemens was in a partnership to produce them) and it is capable of running in cold weather as well, I believe parts of the prague line are un-enclosed and use this train. It looks like the tube goes over a park, which would make me think it’s for noise reasons
