I think the further you’d move the antenna away from the focal point the less signal you’d have but unless you can move the reflector that’s just what you have to do. Actually the focal point would be way up in the air above the whole thing from the look of it.

Or, I’m wrong, I read something about the [Arecibo Observatory](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arecibo_Observatory#/media/File:Arecibo_Observatory_Aerial_View.jpg) years ago that seems to be similar hardware. I do know I’d rather be in Arecibo than the Eastern US come winter time.
